There’s nothing like putting a few Holiday classics in rotation to get everyone in the Christmas Spirit.
Songs like Silent Night, Away in a Manger, or even Tupac Shakur’s classic hip hop banger, Hail Mary are sure wins to keep the festive spirit alive this time of year, right?
If you don’t think so just ask the on-goers who attended the Catholic 2016 Joy to the World Festival held at the Nelum Ponka Theatre in, the capital of Sri Lanka.
According to the Daily Mail and a Sri Lankan journalist, Jithendra Antonio, the lyrics to the late rapper’s 1990s hit were mistakenly uploaded on a carols program in place of the traditional catholic prayer similarly named, The Hail Mary.
That evening, instead of readers meditating on the customary catholic prayer’s message, which draws inspiration from passages in Luke’s gospel of how “blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus,” participants were welcomed with lyrics reading, “I ain’t no killer but don’t push me revenge is like the sweetest joy next to getting p**sy.”
It’s been reported that the lyrics were printed on over 1,000 flyers for the event - which is said to be one of the biggest carol services in the country.
Seeing that it's Christmas and all, we'll go ahead and charge this to the printer's head and not his heart.
