8 Most Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2017

If 2017 is anything like 2016 musically, then we will be highly blessed and favored. With some of the biggest names in hip-hop dropping projects in 2017 it's not far-fetched to say just that.

Big Sean, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, and Drake are included in Forbes’ 8 of the Most Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2017. These are big name artists so we can definitely expect radio hits.

Detroit rapper, Big Sean, has already released two singles off his upcoming album: “Bounce Back” and “Moves.” His album I Decided is set to release on February 3. The lead single, “Bounce Back,” made its way into the Billboard Hot 100 list. It has catchy beats and deep lyrics. Sean is known for his motivating lyrics. He raps: “Last night took an L, but tonight I bounce back. Wake up every morning, by the night, I count stacks.” I Decided is available for pre-order on iTunes.

In 2013, Jay Z released his album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. Since then, he hasn’t released a solo album. He has been featured in several songs including: “All the Way Up Remix” by Fat Joe and Remy Ma and “I Got the Keys” by DJ Khaled with Future too. However, there is good news for the HOVA fans in the world. According to Rolling Stone, “Jermaine Dupri said Jay Z’s 13th album is finished and titled.” We can assume that it’s going to be a masterpiece.

Back in March 2016, Nylon interviewed Nicki Minaj for a cover story. When asked about new music, Nicki responded: “I wanted to take a moment to just live my life, enjoy my life, have fun, go out. I think that’s very important before you start writing again.” She wants to share her happiness in her new songs. However, Nicki has kept her relevance in the music world. She has a career total of 70 appearances on the Hot 100. This total ties her with Taylor Swift for the second-most appearances on the list for solo women. Maybe her new album will help her get ahead.

Besides being 2016’s most streamed artist, Drake accomplished many things this year. He also announced an upcoming music project, More Life, which will release in 2017. Drake doesn’t consider the project an album, but he considers it more of a playlist. One of the singles off the playlist, “Fake Love,” is already a hit on the radio. The rapper made more Billboard history today as “he ties Lil Wayne for the most Hot 100 appearances among soloists.” Drake is indeed unstoppable.
