CNN Panelist's Thoughts on Trump meeting with Kanye and Steve Harvey? A Parade of "Mediocre Negroes"

Tension among panelists on CNN grew to an extraordinary level when the topic of Steve Harvey meeting with Donald Trump at Trump Towers came into discussion.

Panelist Marc Lamont Hill disregarded Trump’s meetings with Kanye West and Steve Harvey as nothing more than Trump parading “mediocre negroes” in front of cameras for the African-American community.

Marc Lamont Hill is a professor of African-American studies and CNN contributor. When he challenged Donald Trump’s methodology of not inviting any African-Americans of high regard in the political world, Bruce Levell, the executive director of the National Diversity Coalition for Trump, defended President-elect Trump.

Levell asked Hill if he had happened to be present during the meeting between Steve Harvey and Trump to which Hill responded, “I don’t see how anything I’ve said would prompt that question. Unless Steve Harvey turned into a policy analyst in the behind-the-scenes meeting, it doesn’t matter whether I was there. My concern is the people he’s trumpeting up and putting in front of the cameras.”

Kanye West and Steve Harvey’s meeting with the president has been the source of much controversy. We can only hope these meetings were on the progressive side.
