“Idea jacking” is a concept well too known within the fashion world, and Abdul Sall of L’Impasse Boutique is the latest victim of this trend. Pictured above are Rihanna and Kylie Jenner in extremely similar outfits. The idea and design are identical, but the designers are not.
The Dolls House Fashion company is allegedly taking credit for the inspiration of the green jumpsuit originally worn by Rihanna, and L'Impasse is taking legal action!
“The Dolls House Fashion Ltd. has unlawfully represented a L’Impasse dress worn by Rihanna by posting a photograph on Instagram claiming the design to be their own.”
The Dolls House Fashion’s posted Kylie Jenner in the white L’Impasse imitation jumpsuit saying, “So very proud to see Kylie Jenner wearing the jumpsuit we made her!” They accompanied the caption with the hashtag “#MadeInHouse”. Their Instagram Bio also reads, “All pictures are of our own designs. Exclusively sold online or in store.”
Rihanna’s stylist has confirmed “these unprofessional so called fashion bloggers refuse to give the proper credit to L’Impasse”. Stealing intellectual property can be seriously punishable by law if it can be proven that it is, in fact, the original creation of another. Regardless of the creator of this intricately designed jumpsuit, both women look stunning in it!
