On day two of my New York Fashion Week(end) (officially Day 3 though) the sun was shining and the weather was somewhat tolerable. All of the show goers rushed through streetstyle photographers to get to their assigned seats on time (but do these shows ever start on time?).
There was a lot of secret service at the Taoray Wang show because Tiffany Trump decided to make an appearance….wonder where her sister Ivanka was…probably somewhere feeling shunned by the fashion world. I didn’t get a chance to ask Tiffany what her father was doing in the White House as we wait for Obama to get back in office, but I was there to watch the models strut their stuff in the amazing pieces the designer created. The masculine/feminine looks are definitely in the now, and I’m sure buyers can’t wait to get their hands on the clothes.
Later I went to Luka Sabbat’s “Hot Mess” gallery at Milk Studios. The young model and stylist was dressed in a HUGE Vetements x Canada Goose jacket, with a Vetements hoodie underneath to top it off. He stopped to comment on the work in the gallery and accept a few compliments from his fans.
Later that day I was late to the Francesca Liberatore show, so I didn’t get to see it, but I’m sure it was great. I met Shaun Ross, got a picture with him before he and squad ran off to some lit after party. Later that night I met a Michael Costello model in my hotel and we spent the rest of the night at her and her boyfriend’s Soho condo bumping Migos looking over the NYC skyline.
Important tip, get to fashion show’s 30 mins early so you don’t miss your show like I did.
