Since the 2016 election of Donald Trump, claims and incidents of racism have gone viral consistently. Everyday people have told their testimonies of being accosted at gas stations, malls, and online. Now, one particular famous voice is speaking out.
Lindsay Lohan, 30, is claiming to have been racially profiled while at London's Heathrow Airport. Woah!
Lohan spoke about the issue on British talk show Good Morning Britain. The superstar states that she was wearing a head scarf while attempting to travel to New York when she was suddenly stopped by an airport work. Lohan states that an airport worker "opened my passport and saw 'Lindsay Lohan' and started immediately apologizing, but then said: 'Please take off your headscarf.'"
Lohan goes on to say that she wondered, "how would another woman who doesn't feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel?"
Lohan was on the return from Turkery after meeting their President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and said she wore the headscarf out of respect. In the past, Lohan has been spotted holding the Quran in public as she says reading Muslim scriptures give her peace.
According to British travel regulations, Lohan would have had the right to refuse to remove her headscarf. "If you're wearing headgear for religious or cultural reasons, you can ask for it to be checked using a hand-held scanner so you don't have to remove it," the rules state, according to Gov.uk
