Kenndric Roberts, 33, is being charged with false imprisonment and trafficking a person for labor.
On Tuesday of last week, officers helped eight women escape an Atlanta mansion that Roberts had lured them to. It is believed that he hired these women to work as dancers inside the million-dollar mansion, but things turned south and he began to threaten the women.
One of the women was able to get to a phone and mentioned that he threatened to kill her if she attempted to leave. The information the dispatcher gathered from the women who called is that Roberts carries a gun, sent her to get plastic surgery, and tells her she can leave anytime she wants, but threatens to kill her if she does leave.
The woman on the phone also mentioned that there were 7 other girls in the house, but she was the only one who wanted to leave. “What we believe is he was luring these women to this house with promises of either modeling careers or financial assistance.” The woman requested that the dispatcher have officer come to the front of the mansion so she could go out and meet them.
It is not clear as to whether or not Roberts had an attorney for comment.
