Earlier this week we posted about Tyra Banks snagging the major job of replacing Nick Cannon as the host of America's Got Talent. According to her Twitter, Tyra will also be replacing Rita Ora as host of America's Next Top Model after the singer only got one season.
Tyra tweeted today that she will be taking back her crown after missing the fans too much. Even though Rita was the new host for the show's VH1 reboot, Tyra had remained Executive Producer.
The change comes because of many reasons. Fans showed an outpouring of disdain on the shows Instagram after every episode revolving around how much they disliked Rita. Rita rarely offered actual fashion advice and seemingly had a personal vendetta against contestant Krislian Rodriguez (both had sexual interactions with pop star Calvin Harris).
Per statement, Tyra stated,
I'm overwhelmed and humbled by the intensity of the ANTM fan base whose deep affection for the show led me to have a change of heart. After giving it a lot of thought, I realized that remaining behind the camera wasn't enough because ANTM is woven into my DNA.
"Tyra has always been the heart and soul of the franchise and her absence was deeply felt by our fiercely loyal fans who missed their Queen of the Smize," said executive producer Ken Mok. "We'd like to thank Rita Ora for being a great partner and total pro. She infused this new iteration of ANTM with passion and creativity and we wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors."
