Apparently scamming has no limits these days. Andrea Vasquez, 44 years old, has been charged with four counts of felony theft after pocketing money from a fashion show fundraiser she hosted for cancer patients.
In October of 2016 was the date of the show that was supposed to raise funds to be donated to the San Antonio charity chapter of “THair for You”, a charity that provides wigs for cancer patients. The organization reported that though they received a $20,000 check the day of the event, they never received a donation from Vasquez after the funds were raised. The reason they never received it is because Vasquez was funneling the charity funds into her pockets!
The event was pinned as a “Fashion for Cancer Foundation” but it was later discovered no charity of the sorts exists in the state of Texas. Vasquez has also been accused of writing $30,000 worth of bad checks from a falsely named account of “Lauren Nicole LLC.” Vasquez could face 2-10 years in prison due to her past criminal history and the severity of her current charges. Vasquez killed a mother and injured her daughter in a drunken driving-related crash in 2001.
