Presidents with no political experience may be the biggest trend of the new millennium. After the election and inauguration of Reality TV star Donald Trump, it seems to be possible that anyone can be President by the end of 2020.
Well, now former WWF wrestler and movie star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is throwing his hat into the ring with Donald Trump, Kanye West, and Caitlyn Jenner for the top spot of 2020.
Previously, The Washington Post ran an op-ed in which the writer suggested the “Baywatch” star might be a particularly formidable and interesting candidate for the presidency at some point in the future.
Johnson, 45, recently told GQ Magazine “I think that it’s a real possibility.”
Is it hard to think of the Rock pulling in the amount of votes needed? Not really, as the American public already heavily buys into the man's brand. Currently, The Rock is the highest paid actor in Hollywood after raking in 60 Million dollars last year.
Not all Johnson’s movies are hits. But collectively, they’ve made about $1 billion a year for the last five years.
As of May 11, Johnson had 57 million followers on Facebook and 2 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, which launched about a year ago. He also has 11 million followers on Twitter, where he once nearly exposed a state secret. (Trump, by contrast, has 29 million.)
Would you vote for The Rock?
