This girl is a natural born crocodile hunter...
A courageous 10-year-old girl, named Juliana Ossa, managed to do the unthinkable on Saturday, fighting off a 9ft alligator after the reptile decided to bite one of her legs as she was resting in shallow waters at Moss Park in Orlando, Florida.
Speaking out on Inside Edition, Ossa recounted her horrifying experience and shared the life saving techniques she learned at a nearby alligator park called Gatorland.
“I used what they taught me at Gatorland, so I put my two fingers up its nostrils and it couldn’t breath and had to breath from its mouth and then let my leg out.”
Ossa continued, “The gator didn’t do anything because he was too busy biting my leg and too busy with his claws in the sand. He didn’t have any attack moves to take out my fingers.”
After the incident, the manager of Orange County Parks and Recreation Matt Suedmeyer, announced the park’s waterfront section would remain closed throughout the week for “an abundance of caution.”
The attack comes almost one year after 2-year-old Lane Graves was killed when an alligator pulled him into the Seven Seas Lagoon at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The animal responsible for the attack on Lane was euthanized following the incident.
Hats off to this girl for her calmness and bravery during the attack.
Meanwhile, if I even get a paper cut I’m liable to call on the pearly gates to take me home SMH
